Programs   

The Program Committee is responsible for the development and implementation of all programming at OLLI, including ongoing, interest-based and standalone programs. Committee members identify and schedule presenters and interest group facilitators and publish OLLI print catalogues and course descriptions on the public website. The committee meets the second Friday of every month from 10 am to 12 pm, making decisions that impact overall programming or individual program items.

Responsibilities include:

  • Program Committee Chair: Provides leadership and oversight for the committee, guiding program development and scheduling, facilitating meetings, and ensuring high-quality, engaging OLLI program offerings.
  • Program Coordinator (Co-Chair): Supports the Chair by coordinating program scheduling, speaker leads, and proposal follow-up with Program Reps.
  • Program Committee Secretary: Records attendance and minutes, distributes meeting notices and summaries, and prepares the monthly volunteer report.
  • Program Reps: Recruit, schedule, and introduce presenters while serving as the primary point of contact for their assigned programs.
  • Program Data Specialists: Reviews and prepares program information for final entry into Campus CE, collaborating with Program Reps to ensure accuracy and clarity. 
  • Substitute Hosts: Serves as a back-up when the assigned Program Rep is unavailable, providing welcome remarks and introducing the presenter.
  • Catalog Publisher: Oversees final print and online catalog production, managing course data review, editing, and proofreading to ensure accuracy and timely publication.
  • Catalog Proofreaders: Review final catalog text for clarity, accuracy, and consistency prior to publication, meeting deadlines established by the Catalog Publisher. 
  • Attendance Data Analyst: Compiles and analyzes monthly and quarterly participation data to help inform program planning and evaluation. 

Subcommittees: The Program Committee is supported by dedicated volunteer subcommittees that help ensure a welcoming, organized, and well supported experience for OLLI members and presenters. 

  • Greeters: Serve as the welcoming first point of contact for members and visitors at OLLI's campus, assisting with basic questions, offering directions, supporting class sign-in, and helping ensure a friendly and positive arrival experience.  
  • Tech Support: Provides technical support for hybrid programs, serving as Zoom support for virtual and distance learners, managing recordings and camera operations, and monitoring Zoom chat to ensure a smooth and engaging experience for all participants.
