Crime Scene Investigation: Connecting the Dots with Physical Evidence

Join retired Sheriff's Lieutenant Carl Caudill as he takes us for a visit back in time to his first appointment as the Director of the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office Crime Laboratory. He will share his knowledge (and stories) of the basics of crime scene investigation, how labs are organized (even today), the different types of physical evidence, what can (in my case did) go wrong with evidence analysis, and a quick layman's look at the science behind fingerprints and DNA. We will also get a chance to test our crime scene observation skills by looking at a mock crime scene representation.
